City Administration
Our friendly staff is here to help you with most of your basic community needs. We process utility payments and file city licenses and permits. These include building permits and business and liquor licenses. You may download and print these forms from our site by clicking here.

Our offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are closed on all major holidays. City Hall sits one block south of the high school at

City Police Department
Strafford's City Police Department has a long history of serving the community. Raymond Goodin, the city's longtime Police Chief established a proud tradition of keeping Strafford a safe place to live. Today's force continues this tradition while serving in the footsteps of Chief Goodin.

The Strafford Police Department is a full time police department. Our force includes Police Chief Justhan Webster, six officers, and Yoster the police K-9. For more information about the city's police department, please visit their official page by

Utilities
The city offers water, sewer, and trash service. A new resident must apply for these services, and a deposit is required.

To pay your bill using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Card, or to use an electronic check from your existing checking account, please click on the "Payments" button in the top navigation and click on the "PayPal Payments" button. On the payment screen, enter the current amount due from you statement. Follow the rest of the on screen instructions. PayPal offers convenient online payments that are secured with the highest encryption available on the net. You do not need to create a PayPal account in order to use our online payment system. Strafford's water supply is tested yearly for your safety. You may download the latest water quality report.

Billing Cycle
The city bills for these services on the first of the month. Payment is due on the 25th of each month. A 10% penalty is assessed on the 26th of the month for any past due accounts. Any past due water bill that isn't paid by the 6th of the following month will result in having your water line shut off.

Deposits
The city requires a utility deposit with the application. The deposit fees are as follows:

Water and sewer for homeowners: $50
Water and sewer for renters: $75
Trash service for homeowners and renters: $15

Electricity
Electricity for the City of Strafford is provided by Empire Electric. For service please call them at (417) 623-4700.

Public Works
The Strafford Public Works department is responsible for maintaining the city streets, parks, drinking water, and wastewater management system. Theire\ mission is to provide safe streets and protect the drinking water in the community. They also provide services such removing snow from your driveway under special circumstances.

Matt Guccione is the head of the Strafford Public Works department. His staff works hard around the community plowing streets in the winter, maintaining street signs, repairing water and sewer lines when needed. To report any broken water lines, street damage, or sewer problems, please call City Hall.

City Parks
Park Committee Chariman Richard Lynge and Parks Director Loren "Lou" Curtis are always looking for willing hands to help out with the city parks here in Strafford. The Park Committee meets the first Wednesday of the month at 6pm in City Hall. Click here to visit the City Information page that contains information about our parks.

Fire Department
Fire Chief Fred Osborne leads the Strafford fire department as a trained and dedicated team of emergency workers. They are trained to fighting fires and assiste with medical emergencies. The Strafford Fire Protection District is a separate entity from the
City of Strafford.

Animal Control: Adopt-a-Pet
The Strafford Police Department's Rebecca Henson currently serves as the animal control point person for Strafford. Strafford's animal control aids in helping control the animal population in the community. They assist with violent animals in the community. They also play an important part in helping stray animals find a home through the work of the Southwest Missouri Human Society.
